چکیده
Safflower is an annual oilseed crop which has healthy edible oil containing high amount of unsaturated fatty acids in the world. In this study, we investigated safflower registered cultivars Turkey (4), genotypes retrieved from USDA (10) and their hybrids (45) for genetic variation using 10 simple sequence repeat (SSR) loci. Genetic diversity calculated cultivars, were as follows: mean number alleles (4.67), expected heterozygosity (0.680), average effective (3.172), polymorphism information content (0.664). The dendrogram analysis revealed at least four possible major clusters parents hybrids. High level explained between populations Fst calculate (0.593) suggested that differentiated to each other. Registered distributed across all accessions USA defined most clusters. based method two corresponded spiny spineless genotypes. It was studied 6 SSR markers could be utilized breeding studies on molecular analysis.

Abstract Safflower is a minor oilseed crop in Australia where the market is dominated by canola, cottonseed and sunflower. Safflower however offers an alternative oilseed crop in marginal areas. This study was designed to evaluate current safflower lines and to determine their potential value both for edible oil and meal for animal feed. Two sets of samples were analysed. The first was a collec...

Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is an oil seed crop that is grown not only for its edible oil but also for its applications as animal feed and plant-made pharmaceuticals. Historically, biometrical genetics played a crucial role in the improvement of safflower seed yield and its components, phenologic and morphologic traits, and nutritional properties including oil, fatty (linoleic, oleic, s...
متن کاملGenetic diversity analysis of groundnut genotypes using SSR markers
Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.), an important oilseed crop is a rich source of oil and protein. Molecular marker technologies are the effective tools and they are used for the assessment of genetic variability because they are not influenced by the environment. Among the molecular markers, Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) has proved to be the most powerful tool for variety identification in groundn...
متن کاملGenetic Mapping of Millions of SNPs in Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) via Whole-Genome Resequencing
Accurate assembly of complete genomes is facilitated by very high density genetic maps. We performed low-coverage, whole-genome shotgun sequencing on 96 F6 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) of a cross between safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) and its wild progenitor (C. palaestinus Eig). We also produced a draft genome assembly of C. tinctorius covering 866 million bp (∼two-thirds) of the expec...
